Always impressed with the hotel. Yes it's getting on a little bit but it has a certain charm. Also all the staff are brilliant, friendly, helpful with a terrific breakfast and fantastic value for money. Two young people on reception were particularly helpful, as was the gentleman who oversaw breakfast. I will be back again.
We had Christmas dinner at the George Hotel. Price was comparable to all other venues we looked at but the menu choices were, in our opinion, better. Great meal. Food very tasty, plentiful and service excellent. This is the second good meal we have had at The George Hotel, so thanks to Noah and the team for looking after us on Christmas Day.
We had a wonderful stay in the George! A warm welcome and a comfortable, clean and big room. Very friendly and helpfull staff and a great dinner and breakfast! A perfect way to start our holiday. Hope to be back again soon!
The George Hotel in Cranbrook is absolutely stunning — a beautiful historic building that’s been incredibly well maintained. From the moment I arrived, the staff were exceptional, welcoming and always on hand whenever needed. My room was large, quiet, and really well equipped, offering a comfortable and relaxing stay. I also had dinner at the hotel and the food was amazing, served in a truly beautiful dining room that added to the whole experience. A wonderful stay from start to finish. Highly recommend.
The rooms were very clean with a comfortable bed and good sized ensuite. Decor was dated and could do with a refresh, but since the place is getting on for 500 years old a bit of refurb is to be expected. Breakfasts were excellent with good choices and plenty to eat. Staff were really friendly and helpful. It was a joy to stay there. Highly recommended.
We recently moved to Cranbrook and the George has become our local, recently they have started a quiz which has been great for the local community. The quiz master, Greg, is very enthusiastic and always brings the fun. He always makes sure that everyone is involved and is very attentive. Aside from the quiz he serves us on a semi-regular basis and is very good host.
Rich in history. An amazing place with great, friendly service. It was busy due to the Christmas tractor run but the staff seemed to be handling it well. We both ordered a pint of prawns but were a little disappointed it arrived shelled. We will definately be back to try a different meal.
Had lunch there today. Very friendly welcome from the moment we arrived. Overall the food was very good. The only comment I would have to make is that it seemed the eggs are griddled rather than fried which results in a brown skirt around the egg which was too over done for me. But this is only a personal opinion, and did not reflect the food in general We had a shared starter which was excellent and my husband had the steak pie which was exceptional. Lovely ambience and very clean. Would highly recommend.
